The problem
Online casinos are brands, and the companies behind them are often hard to see. One operator can run dozens of sites, licences sit with companies that have different names, and the information is spread across regulator registers, licence pages, terms and conditions and company registries.
In iGaming SEO you need this information more often than you would think: when you compare operators, check whether two sites share an owner, or try to understand a market. Finding it usually means an hour of opening tabs.
What CasinoWhois does
CasinoWhois answers one question: who really owns the casino? You can search across casinos, operators, companies, licences and networks. Each result shows the operator, the licence and its status, and when the information was last verified.
The rule I built it around is simple: every fact links to the regulator or official source it came from. If a fact cannot be sourced, it is not shown as a fact.
Sources
The data is checked against official sources, including:
- UK Gambling Commission
- Malta Gaming Authority
- Curaçao Gaming Authority
- Kahnawake Gaming Commission
- Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland
- iGaming Ontario
- Casino terms, licence pages and company registries
CasinoWhois is independent and not affiliated with any regulator.
My role
I am the founder. I designed how casinos, operators, companies, licences and networks connect to each other, decided which sources count, and planned the site so each type of entity has its own page that search engines and AI systems can understand. As with my other projects, AI assistants write much of the code and I make the decisions and check the results.
CasinoWhois Pro
For researchers, SEOs and industry teams who need more than one-off lookups, CasinoWhois Pro adds:
- Monitoring and alerts for changes in ownership, licences and brand networks.
- CSV exports and API access.
- Advanced search for connections across operators, brands and companies.
Where it stands
CasinoWhois is live. The database grows as more casinos, operators and licences are verified. There is no public pricing for Pro yet.
Results
It is early, and I am not publishing usage numbers yet. I will add them here when there is enough history to be honest about.
What I am learning
- A source link on every fact is slower to build and worth it. It is what makes the data trustworthy for people and for search engines.
- Showing uncertainty is a feature. A status like “under review” and a “last verified” date are more useful than pretending every record is final.
- Entity pages need a clear data model before any design. Getting the relationships right came first.
